Our Services
Independent Supported Living
We provide targeted, high-quality care frameworks designed to meet the diverse needs of young individuals. We accept referrals for:
- Looked-After Children & Care Leavers: Specialized transitional support for young people aged 16–17 navigating the care system or preparing to exit local authority care.
- Independence Preparation: Young individuals requiring structured guidance to establish healthy daily routines, build vital life skills, and successfully engage with education, employment, or training.
- Trauma-Informed Crisis Support: Compassionate interventions tailored for youth who have experienced significant lifestyle instability, family breakdowns, homelessness, or placement disruptions.
- Step-Down Placement Solutions: Smooth, structured transitions for individuals moving out of residential care units, secure accommodation facilities, or other highly supported settings.
- Flexible Transition Pathways: Provisions accommodating both carefully planned, long-term developmental transitions and immediate, time-sensitive emergency placements.
Comprehensive Housing & Semi-Independent Support Services
We offer a flexible pathway to independence through tailored accommodation frameworks and dedicated community outreach:
- Diverse Accommodation Options: Providing high, medium, and low-support shared housing, as well as independent, stand-alone units.
- 24-Hour Staffed Provision: Round-the-clock on-site support to ensure safety, stability, and continuous guidance.
- Community Outreach & Crisis Response: Dedicated outreach work alongside a responsive 24-hour emergency referral pathway for prompt crisis placements.
Personalised Care Pathways & Daily Living Support
Upon placement, we collaborate directly with each young person to establish consistent daily routines that stabilise and significantly enhance their quality of life. We provide active monitoring, guidance, and structured assistance across key developmental areas:
Essential Healthcare & Household Management
- Healthcare Integration: Assisting with registration and attendance tracking for GP, dental, and optical services.
- Nutritional Guidance: Practical support with grocery shopping and healthy meal preparation.
- Domestic & Appointment Management: Developing complete household maintenance skills while ensuring consistent attendance at community and professional appointments.
Financial Literacy & Administration
- Budgetary Independence: Practical coaching in personal financial management, saving strategies, and daily budgeting.
- Welfare & Benefits Guidance: Full administrative support with navigating local benefit applications and maintaining financial entitlements.
Community Engagement, Education & Safety
- Academic & Career Pathways: Facilitating direct access to local education, vocational training, and long-term employment opportunities.

Our Staff Team
At Hamlet Abbey, our people are at the heart of everything we do. Our leadership team and support staff bring extensive experience in working with young people, including looked-after children, care leavers, and those preparing for independent adulthood.
Drawing on expertise across social care, safeguarding, supported accommodation and youth support services, our team understands the challenges many young people face, including experiences of trauma, family breakdown, homelessness, instability and placement disruption. This knowledge enables us to provide compassionate, consistent and person-centred support that responds to each young person's individual needs.
